TechFaux: PETA Targets Computer Programmers With String Of Bizarre Protests

  • technoshaun · 1 year ago
Have to love PETA for not investigating what Python is. Only they can get a computer language mixed up with an animal.
  • Lukas · 1 year ago
    is this for real?????
if it is, holy crap! as einstein once said: the universe and the stupidity of the human race are endless.
  • Sesh · 1 year ago
The last line super sucks. You guys just needed a bout of web traffic.
  • Bryan Woods · 1 year ago
Hey Sesh. I would totally have agreed with you, except those words were said by Guido straight to me. It was a really, really strange night.
  • anderuel · 1 year ago
Hi Bryan...I would love to believe that this is true, but that picture doesn't look like KS in June (or any other time, for that matter). Do you mean that you asked the woman in the picture above a question or you asked a woman holding a sign like the one in the picture above a question?
  • Bryan Woods · 1 year ago
    Surely you jest.
  • pooopdog · 1 year ago
    BADDDDDD
  • flower · 1 year ago
How come no one offered to show them that their "snakes" were fine??

I hope this opens people's eyes to just how stupid PETA protesters are. They don't even understand what they protest against!
  • CCorsair · 1 year ago

  • CCorsair · 1 year ago

  • featheredfrog · 1 year ago
Oh, yeah, the picture is entirely unrelated: http://www.ihmcimg.com/picts05/2006/01/spain_na.... NOT Kansas and Not June, 2008.
  • CCorsair · 1 year ago
the picture at the top is just file picture they found as no one took a picture or at lease one that could be posted.. and PeTa isn't saying it didn't happen so if it did or didn't PeTa events like this should be know as just the string we use to attract the cat .. the cat knows it just string but it must go to it.. like the press does to PeTa the want the the dumb ones as they say(any in the press feel like PeTa just called you stupid.. they did many times) the video here saids it all .
  • Not a PETA lover · 1 year ago
PETA is working on many different angles(some not legal) to achieve an America that does not eat meat, no pets, no hunting, no zoos, no medical research with animals. According to PETA, “A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy.” — Ingrid Newkirk, President, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They are strange, radical and dangerous.

Pretty wierd stuff to show up at a programming get together, pretty funny actually, if it were not for PETA's goal.

I suggest you all follow the link... What noobs.

Since when did Kansas look like down-town London?
  • TCM · 1 year ago
Before calling people noobs, i suggest you read the articles you link yourself.

For your information, Downtown Barcelona doesn't look anything like downtown London.
  • Boone_syd · 1 year ago
    Hilarious!

If you read it properly, you would notice it mentions a protest IN LONDON in 2006 - when the photo was taken.> Subject: [Disqus] Re: PETA Targets Computer Programmers With String Of Bizarre Protests> From: > To: bjhopkinson@hotmail.com> Date: Wed, 25 Jun 2008 16:23:02 +0000> > TCM (unregistered) wrote:> > Before calling people noobs, i suggest you read the articles you link yourself. > > For your information, Downtown Barcelona doesn't look anything like downtown London.> > Link: http://techfaux.disqus.com/peta_targets_compute...> > --> You may reply to this email to post your response. If I would know when they started FOX ...
  • James Lane · 1 year ago
I love it. I can program a few languages and in my totally computer immersed days would have loved such a protest! They will now have to come up with a new title for their meeting next month like rabbit pelt furriers, just to get some free nudity. Nudity is fun for geeks, we don't judge...
  • ericmoritz · 1 year ago
That can't be real... It's Photoshoped... I saw this protest on another site last week.
  • Bryan Woods · 1 year ago
@ericmoritz - You must not have spent much time around this site if you think we have Photoshop skills of that calibur!

    This is absolutely hilarious!!!
  • CLM · 1 year ago
Django is not a company. The last line gives it away if you haven't figured out this story is humor of The Onion variety. Take a look at other posts on this website.
  • Jonas Morgil · 1 year ago
    Dem kann ich wohlwollend beipflichten
  • Juke33 · 1 year ago
Dont think this is real... but funny article
  • Soumy · 1 year ago
I do rather like how people are unable to read a web pages title.
  • Mark B · 1 year ago
Worst fake news ever. You guys are sad.
  • Boone_syd · 1 year ago
    Agreed...
  • Bryan Woods · 1 year ago
Better than troll comments, I'd think.
